A heartfelt reflection on a lost love that still lingers in every memory and moment. Set against the imagery of crashing tides and distant stars, it tells the story of two stubborn souls who once stood strong together, even when they had nothing but each other. Though time and loss have drawn them apart, the memories remain vivid, echoing laughter, the scent of the ocean, and dreams of better days. It’s a bittersweet reminder that some loves never truly fade or even return.

This project was special to Shane as it was a collaboration with an old friend from high school, Marty Fowler.

Passionate

Shane Bernard, a seasoned singer-songwriter, took a significant hiatus from music over 20 years ago to embrace the responsibilities of single fatherhood, raising his twin boys. His journey is marked by both profound heartbreak and notable achievements, each leaving an indelible mark on his soul and the stories he crafts through his music. Shane's rich life experiences and emotional depth continue to resonate in every song he writes and performs.

Hazel Eyes

A know-it-all who blazed his own trail like a genius,
and never considered the cost.

Now there's miles and so many years between us,
You found yourself while I got lost...

Be Kind to Me
A Letter to Myself

Keep your heart open, let your soul be free,
And remember to always be kind to me...

Earlier Release

"Gone Like the Wind" is a nostalgic, emotionally resonant country ballad that beautifully captures the bittersweet essence of young love and the inevitable passage of time. Written and produced by Shane Bernard, the song delves into universal themes of love, loss, and memory, blending vivid imagery with heartfelt storytelling.

Set against a backdrop of timeless small-town scenes—carving initials into an old oak tree, nights at the county fair, and getting stuck in Johnson’s field—the lyrics evoke a powerful sense of place and sentimentality. The chorus delivers a sweeping and reflective hook, comparing the fleeting nature of those cherished memories to wind passing through golden fields. This poetic metaphor anchors the song, giving it a timeless quality that resonates with listeners of all ages.

This EP is a true labor of love, showcasing a rich tapestry of heartfelt ballads and vibrant, uplifting narratives. Each song is meticulously crafted, drawing deeply from Shane's personal experiences and life journey, offering listeners an intimate glimpse into his soul.

“What Would You Say” is a heartfelt ballad that delves into themes of love, longing, and vulnerability. The song explores the inner turmoil of someone yearning for reconciliation with a lost love. Through tender lyrics and vivid imagery, it captures the fear and hope that come with seeking forgiveness and a second chance.

The verses weave a narrative of introspection, each asking poignant questions that reflect the narrator’s hesitance and desire to reconnect. The chorus is a powerful expression of emotional conflict, balancing the uncertainty of the coming response with the undeniable truth of the narrator’s feelings. The outro poignantly brings the story full circle, leaving listeners with a lingering question about whether love will triumph or heartbreak will prevail.

Set to a melody that complements its emotional depth, “What Would You Say” resonates with anyone who has ever wanted to mend a broken bond but feared rejection. Vulnerability, redemption, and the timeless struggle to win back the one who got away.

Unashamed: a three song EP which includes two songs (Unashamed and Forever Stained) that were written, recorded and produced over a three week period. The song also includes a track written by Shane over twenty years ago titled "Anymore."
